What we’re doing…

Tetrahedron Coffee is Alameda’s first local roaster—we started micro with once-per-quarter freshly-roasted coffee offerings, and have grown to small twice-monthly roasts that can be picked up at a monthly pop-up garden party, on the front porch of one of our founder’s houses or shipped to wherever.

Who are we?

Tetrahedron coffee is a partnership between three coffee drinkers who wish there was somewhere delicious to go for coffee on Alameda’s West End—a place that served coffee as wonky and exquisite as our part of The Island itself.

Why are we up to this?

We aren’t ready to quit our day jobs, but we can gather together and with our power combined create a little coffee scene of our own. A friendly scene. With flowers. And sourdough and most importantly, with coffee served three ways:

  • Coffee Black

  • Coffee With Milk and

  • Coffee With a Lot of Milk

What does Tetrahedron mean?

The Tetrahedron we’re inspired by is a remnant of aviation on the far western part of Alameda Island, a wind indicator that still turns at the slightest change of wind direction, though the airport has long been abandoned.

As we are laser-focused on bringing coffee to the West End, we also draw inspiration from the local endangered species, the California Least Tern, which we feature in our logo and who (from April-September) shares space with that nice old hunk of metal out there near the flea market runway.
